Wow, this is cool! A video has been released showing the production of Syfy’s upcoming drama, Defiance and the attached MMO that will run along side the show, being made by Trion Worlds. Created by Rockne S. O’Bannon (creator of Farscape) and starring Julie Benz (she played Rita in season 1-4 of Dexter, just before it became garbage), it is set 35 years in the future after an alien ship crashes on earth, terra-forming the planet.
Honestly before this video I wasn’t very excited for this show (except for seeing Julie Benz on TV again, she’s great) but now that I have a clearer idea of the vision and scope of this project, I am now very much looking forward to this. It is really neat that they are tying the game and show together in a way that they will actually affect each other! Let’s just hope Syfy doesn’t screw this up. Defiance should air sometime early next year.
