In case you didn’t hear, award-winning Sci-fi author Ray Bradbury died yesterday at the age of 91.  He was a literary genius and wrote several great novels including Fahrenheit 451 and The Martian Chronicles.  He will be missed.

Here is a great quote by him (check here for more):

“We must move into the universe. Mankind must save itself. We must escape the danger of war and politics. We must become astronauts and go out into the universe and discover the God in ourselves.”

RIP.

I found a cool image online today and I figured i would share it!  It shows what aliens living in other locations in space can now see if they are monitoring our TV broadcasts.  It includes shows like Babylon 5, Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation and many others.  Enjoy!

Miami Zombie Apocalypse!

Over the weekend, Miami had its own mini zombie apocalypse.  Rudy Eugene (pictured above), a man who was on a drug  that they are calling “bath salts” (a form of LSD)  literally ate a man’s face off, in broad daylight, naked (because the drug made his body temperature sky-rocket).  He was also growling at the police and witnesses too.  A police officer then shot him multiple times before he stopped and died, which is just insane.  The crazy part is that apparently it was only a head shot that stopped him as the other shots were ineffective.  ZOMBIE!!!

A picture of the victim is here.  I’m not going to directly post it for your sake.  Its pretty awful so look at your own risk and obviously this is NSFWhttp://i.imgur.com/KKokC.jpg

We don’t know the condition of the victim yet but it’s definitely not good.  :(

There isn’t much happening in the sci-fi world right now but there is something cool happening in the real world!  An annular solar eclipse will occur tonight so be sure to look up in the sky and check it out from 5:30 pm PST and onward!

People in the southwestern will be able to see the entire eclipse while viewers in Canada will have a partial view.  As described by NASA scientist Jeffrey Newmark, ”It will look like a donut with a very big hole in it.”

Enjoy!

This is amazing.  With Phoenix Jones waiting at a radio station in Seattle, his self-proclaimed nemesis, Rex Velvet, called in to speak to Jones.  They discussed various topics and let’s just say they didn’t get along.  The link to listen to it is below.  It’s just hilarious.  This is the closest we’re going to get to a real life superhero/ supervillain battle so enjoy!.
