I came across a really interesting Kickstarter project a few days ago called Geekify.TV which describes itself as “a 100% internet-based Sci-fi/ geel culture TV network. It is being made from the guys who run the 3 Guys One Cup podcast (see them embedded above). With the recent downward spirals of the Syfy network (RIP SGU) and G4-TV recently, this seems like a good alternative to support. Check them out here , their Kickstarter project here and their press release is below.

Geekify Entertainment Launches Geekify.TV, A 100% Internet Based TV Network
After observing the steady decline of quality Sci-Fi programming on traditional TV, due in large part to the inaccuracy of Nielsen TV ratings when it comes to the Sci-Fi genre, Geekify Entertainment has launched a next generation 100% internet based TV Network with the sole purpose of evangelizing quality Sci-Fi and “Geek Culture” programming.
The company was formed in reaction to the announcement by G4TV, the last remaining mecca for “geek culture”, officially pulling the plug on long-running shows Attack of the Show and X-Play. That combined with the steady degradation in true Sci-Fi programming by the Syfy channel lead to the birth of Geekify.tv.
Geekify.tv currently has a weekly live podcast and three weekly short form shows with an additional podcast called SCIENCEEE! scheduled to launch this month. In an effort to fast-track development of new shows and content a Kickstarter campaign (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/brkaminski/geekifytv) was launched to secure funding for purchasing equipment as well as finding and backing hard Sci-Fi shows on the Kickstarter platform like L5 (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hemogoblin/l5-a-hard-science-fiction-miniseries) and Time Splitters (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/254658476/time-splitters).
The Geekify.tv Kickstarter campaign runs through February 15, 2013 at 7:02 PM. Upon successful completion of the campaign the company is looking to C2E2 (Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo) as their first stop to offer live convention coverage.
